Transcription:

A memorial of an indented deed of assignment of mortgage by way of lease and release bearing date respectively the seventh and eighth days of February one thousand seven hundred and eighty three between

Charles North late of Cottage otherwise Davidstown[*] but now of Courtland in the county of Westmeath esqr of the first part

Roger North of Cottage otherwise Davidstown in the county of Westmeath esquire of the second part and

Andrew Reynolds of Ashe Street in the Liberty of Thomas Court and Donore adjoining the city of Dublin weaver and mercer of the third part,

whereby

after reciting that by indented deeds of lease and release bearing date respectively by way of mortgage dated the thirtyeth day of April and first day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty two the said Roger North

and further reciting that by deeds of lease and release dated the seventh and eighth days of November one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine Abraham Pilkington of Toar Lodge in the county of Westmeath esquire and Henry Pilkington of Toar in the said county of Westmeath esqr eldest son and heir apparent of said Abraham Pilkington did in considn of six hundred pounds sterling to him paid by said Charles North granted set and to farm let unto said Charles North all that and those the town and lands of Davidstown therein mentioned during the lives of three persons therein named subject to five shillings sterling yearly rent in which deed of lease is contained a covenant for perpetual renewal on payment of one shilling fine on the fall of each life

and reciting that said lease and leasehold premes were by mesne assignments vested in said Roger North party to said deed in considn of five hundred pounds sterling to him paid by said Charles North

did grant and convey unto said Charles North his heirs and assigns the said town and lands of Davidstown containing by estimation ninety five acres plantation measure be the same more or less situate in the barony of Fartullagh and said county of Westmeath with their appurtenances to hold to said Charles North his heirs and assigns during the three lives in said recited lease named and the life and lives of such person and persons as should from time [sic] be added to said lease subject to redempn as therein mentioned

and also reciting that there was due on the foot of said recited deed bond and judgmt the sum of five hundred and two pounds five shillings and five pence sterling

by which said deed said Andrew Reynolds by the appointment of said Roger North agreed and actually did pay to said Charles North the said sum of five hundred and two pounds five shillings and five pence sterling in considn whereof and of ten shillings sterling to the said Roger North in hand paid by said Andrew Reynolds

they the said Charles North and Roger North according to their several estates did grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Andrew Reynolds the said deed of release of first of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty two and said bond of February one thousand seven hundred and eighty three particularly mentioned

subject as therein mentioned

to hold to said Andrew Reynolds his heirs and assigns during the lives of three persons in said lease named and the life and lives of such persons as should be added thereto

subject nevertheless to a clause of redempn in said deed particularly mentioned

which said deed of release and this meml were duly executed by the said Charles and Roger North in the presence of John Nicholson of Killavally yeoman and James Beahan of Gurtford servant to said Roger North.
